Rather than waiting to be betrayed by the Giants, the party to the initiative to free the prisoners and escape Jotunstad. Under he cover of darkness, Locke infiltrated the prison, locating the wardens quarters and securing his keys (as well as weaponry and several other choice items of loot). Avoiding numerous guards, Locke was able to free several prisoners (including the vicious Troll Rizlin the Ravenous). Using Rizlins rampage as cover, the Locke and the prisoners fought there way from the confines of the prison.
While waiting for Locke the free the prisoners, the rest of the group made their own escape, quickly dispatching their guards and making their way with several escaped slaves to the main sewer entrance. The party reunited and spit up; with the main group f prisoners and slaves taking the sewers out of the city, while Tamrea and her people (including Targa and Bolaer) went to recover their confiscated equipment from the guard captain and to locate the Morning Star.
After facing several hazards of the sewers, the group was able to locate the residence of the Guard Captain, who was having dinner and conversation with a cruel looking Hag. Eavesdropping in on their conversation, they learned that the Jarl of Jotunstad had sent the Morning Star to Ciernasten as a gift to be presented as part of a diplomatic overture. The group quickly overwhelmed and slew both the captain and his hag guest, and were able to recover their equipment.
From there the group began the grueling trek back to Vallwood. Despite being low on food and supplies, they were able to make it back without any casualties. Locke gained the personal thanks of Targa, and his pledge to come if his help is ever needed. While taking some time for a much needed rest, Tamrea began plotting the next leg of the journey.
