24th Ghost Moon- 14th Dreaming Moon; 4125MC
On a quest to restore the rightful rulers of Drakon-Ur, the party of Dagon Crescent, his younger brother Maram, the Volksstam Archer Hjordis Ulfen, and the lizardman Oruka of Mosscale were tasked by King Adam II of the Davanar to help them deal with their enemies, the Skris-Sha Ratmen.
Rather then take the almost suicidal course of fighting the creature, the party instead decided to negotiate. Meeting with the leader of the warren (cleric of Skajis known as The Half Dark), Maram promised the Ratmen a large portion of the spoils in return for aid in retaking Drakon-Ur from the hated Kyr Eldar. The party was gifted with the tokens that would grant them safe passage through Skris-Sha territory, and as symbols of their alliance.Upon returning to Davanar, the party collected a handsome reward and set out to find their ally Cid Valentine, who was last seen traveling west. It was at this time that Oruka took his leave of the party. returning home with treasure and tales of adventure.
While traveling, the weathered turned bitter cold and the party endured several days of heavy snowfall, slowing their progress to a crawl. While snowbound, the remain party passed the time gaming and sharing stories of loves won and lost. The snow relented long enough to reach the city of Silkwood.Their arrival was noted by Vanathrial, an elven exile who is also seeking Cid.
A tense meeting revealed that Vanathrial was a lieutenant in the Kyr army who allowed the Cresent Brothers to escape captivity. As punishment,Queen Cadeal Nim of the Kyr Eldar had Vanathrial branded, stripped of his name, and exiled. He now seeks to topple the Queen and restore Drakon-Ur to its rightful rulers. While torn by mistrust and expecting treachery, the Crescent Brothers could not overlook the knowledge an skill Vanathrial added to their cause, and (grudgingly) allowed him into the party.
The weather again hindered travel, forcing the party to stay in Silkwood a few days longer.
The brothers met the Orc weaponsmith Troga. With an appropriate mix of Orcish praise and insults, the brothers gained Troga’s respect, and was able to trade in spare equipment for gold. Troga even added protective runes to Dagon’s armor.
While the others relaxed and shopped (Hjordis discovered the joys of silk), Maram enjoyed a brief dalliance with a comely serving girl named Lia.
From there, the refreshed party traveled towards the coast to the great city of Kaygan, on of the largest and most advanced cities in the realm. Their investigation (which seemed to take place primarily in brothels) showed that Cid was ahead of them by about 10 days. Deciding to spend their time in Kaygan wisely, the party arranged a meeting with the Queen, and enjoyed the hospitality of Councilor Monday. After enjoying a relaxing evening of food (and for Dagon and Vanathrial, the pleasure of female company as well), the party set forth to meet with The Queen of Kaygan.
