24th-29th Dreaming Moon; 4125MC
After spending a well needed day of rest in Destine City (where both Ash and Maram received a year long membership to the Great Western Library), the party began their journey south to the city of Sestrana. Believing they they were still being pursued, Dagon made the decision o stay on the main roads.
While less treacherous than the wilds, the high roads had significant challenges in the form of a hungry Troll. While the party able to dispatch the beast, Vanathrial absorbed the brunt of the giants fury. Needing time to rest and recover, the party camped in a field along with a caravan of merchants traveling to Sestrana. Shadow Festival was only a few days away, and the merchants were looking forward to a handsome profit.
Among the more colorful of these tradespeople were Vreet (a Lizardfolk food vendor who specialized in exotic meats), Elundra Silverblossom (a Kyr Elf Apothecary), and Hagar Ashe (a Volksstam mead merchant).
Also among the travelers was an elvish soldier recognized by Vanathrial as Captain Amaril Nialo, a well respected officer in the Kyr Eldar army. Taking it upon himself to find out what he knew, Vanathrial and Ash ambushed the Captain while he slept, extorting information about an object known as “The Sphere” from the Elvish Warrior, and stealing his enchanted blade “Silver Scorn”.
The party reached the city of Sestrana in the midst of preparing for Shadow Festival, a raucous celebration of the high-winter season. While Vanathrial secured lodging from the surprisingly cordial Ogre Gristlebender, Ash met with agents of the Crimson Shrike in order to obtain more information about the Sphere, and those who are seeking it. The Brothers Crescent attended to their own business, securing the aid of Senator Stephon Sky, who was sympathetic o their situation.
